- Academic Merit Scholarship
We consider applications when they are received, so we strongly recommend applying as early as possible.

Please note: We will not consider any applications where the offer is conditional on the qualification used for academic merit assessment, and where the UWE Welcome ID has not been provided.

Recipients of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

- Justice Malek Ahmad Scholarship
One full tuition fee scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding student to study a one year Masters programme. The scholarship also covers accommodation costs of up to £3,000.
This scholarship is awarded in the memory of Justice Malek Ahmad, President of the Court of Appeal Malaysia (deceased). The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

- MBA Scholarship
We offer a number of scholarships to support our national and international MBA applicants. All scholarships are considered on the basis of your submitted online application. Places are limited so please apply early. For more information visit the Bristol Business School website.
- Millenium Development Scholarship
One full tuition fee scholarship will be awarded for an outstanding student to study a one year Masters programme at UWE. Applicants will need to provide information in their application detailing how the scholarship will help them to attain the Millennium Development goals within their country.
The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments, and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of the course.

- Professor Arthur Li Development Scholarships
One full tuition fee scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding student to study a one year Masters programme. This scholarship commemorates the progressive thinking and contribution to education of Professor Arthur Li, who has been at the forefront of education reform in Hong Kong and holds an honorary degree from UWE. The scholarship is available to applicants from developing Commonwealth countries as indicated on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website.
The recipient of this scholarship will be required to undertake an internship working within the International Development Office and other departments and will also be required to undertake ambassadorial activity for the University throughout the duration of their course.

Full Payment Discount
If you are a new full-time or sandwich student and you or your sponsor is liable for the full international tuition fee for your programme of study, you will be eligible for a full payment discount of £500 provided that:
- you have paid your fees for the academic year in full before the date specified below*.
- the tuition fee received by UWE after the full payment discount is awarded is at least £8,500.
- you are paying a higher fee than 'home' students on the same award.
- this scholarship is awarded as a fee reduction so students should pay, in total, the full amount due minus the £500.
- this scholarship can be awarded in addition to our other scholarships where students are eligible as per our terms and conditions.
Awards excluded from this scholarship are the MBA, Legal Practice Course, Graduate Diploma in Law, the Bar Vocational Course and PhDs.
Please note: This scholarship is only available to new students starting a new course this year, and is not available to students who are continuing on their existing programme.
* For programmes commencing in September, you will need to have paid your fees in full by 30 September. For programmes commencing in January, you need and paid your fees in full by 1 February.
Terms and Conditions
- A student can only be in receipt of one University of the West of England scholarship. If you meet the eligibility criteria for more than one of the scholarships, you will be awarded the scholarship which is the most beneficial to you. This will be in addition to the fullpayment discount where applicable.
- If you have been awarded a scholarship, you will be notified in writing. Full terms and conditions for the scholarship will be sent with the scholarship award letter.
- All scholarships will be given as a tuition fee discount.
- These are one-off awards, which are non-renewable after the first year of study unless otherwise specified.
- All scholarships, unless otherwise specified, are non- deferrable. If you are offered a scholarship and then choose to defer your place the offer of the scholarship will be withdrawn and you will have to re-apply or will be reconsidered for the scholarship again the following year.
Exceptions
Please note that scholarships are not available in respect of the English Language Pre-sessional programmes.
The MBA, BPTC, LPC, PhD's and continuing professional development courses are not eligible for the postgraduate scholarships.
Students enrolling at Hartpury are not eligible for any of the UWE scholarships.
Eligibility
You will be eligible for consideration for a scholarship if you meet the following criteria:
- You, the student, are liable to pay the full international tuition fee. ie you are not a sponsored student (unless otherwise specified).
- You are a national of, and resident in a country outside of the EU.
- You have been made a conditional or unconditional offer of a place from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
- You meet any specific scholarship requirements.
